Description

This system is designed to make "hot" micro holes on moving films of various materials and thicknesses and is to be installed as a host unit in film transport lines, such as slitters, extruders, printing and welding machines. The HN 200 guarantees perfect micro holes on mono- or bi-oriented materials and even with low heat input; it is ideal for delicate processing on shrinkable material or with very high needle density per cm2.

Operation

The HN200 is an electrically heated needle microperforator. The running film arrives at the device and is perforated by the motorized needle shaft which approaches the contrast roller designed to support the material. The micro-perforation is achieved by melting and perforating the material, caused by the needles fixed on the interchangeable bronze sleeves. The needle sleeves are mounted on the needle shaft placed inside an insulated chamber and brought to an adequate temperature by the group of infrared lamps.

Drive

The operation of the HN200 is entrusted to the electrical control panel with our software designed for 4.0 integration. The operator via touch screen manages all operations inherent to the device such as temperature control, control of heating elements, emergency activation and needle shaft rotation.

When the device is paused, the needle shaft rotates slowly to maintain a uniform heating or cooling temperature to avoid any damage.

In "automatic function," the approach of the needle shaft to the material is enabled only at optimal speed and temperature, to ensure perfect holes and to avoid melting of the material on the needles due to incorrect parameters.

When the operator activates the "stop" function or when the film runs at an unsuitable speed, the perforation is disabled: the contrast roller with the running material moves away, the shutter separating the hot chamber closes and the unit goes into "pause," with the needle shaft continuing its rotation at reduced speed. However, it is also available the "manual function" which allows the operator to activate perforation at any film speed.

It is possible to equip the device with a photocell to read the presence of the material which, when not detected, disables the perforation and closes the shutter.

When the machine is turned off, it enters the "pause" mode before stopping, continuing the rotation of the needle shaft until it cools down, to prevent needle damage and roller twisting.


Components

1 Needle shaft

It consists of a STEEL ROLLER with mechanical parts SUITABLE FOR WORKING AT HIGH TEMPERATURES to prevent damage from thermal expansion.

2 Counter roller

It has a PERFECTLY UNIFORM SURFACE to obtain homogeneous holes. It can be supplied in ground natural bristles, plastic bristles or rubberized bristles. It is motorized system driven, and enables and disables perforation by moving it closer to or further away from the needle shaft

3 Electric heating system

It consists of a group of lamps (INFRARED CERAMIC RADIATORS) with PID control. The PLC manages the three heating lines independently so as to ensure uniformity of heat emission. The operator can monitor the temperature inside the chamber via touch screen.

4 Shutter

Moved by two pneumatic pistons, it is part of the safety systems: it separates the insulated chamber from the counter roller and the film to be processed, preventing the material from catching fire

5 Interchangeable cylinders

Bronze or steel sectors with infixed needles. They are mounted on the needle shaft.

6 Micrometric screws

They are part of the PENETRATION ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM, and are used to adjust the distance between the counter roller and the needle roller.

7 Idler rollers

Made of steel, they are part of the TRANSFER GROUP for optimal control of the tension of the film to be processed.

8 Insulated chamber

Stainless steel plate chamber containing the motorized steel shaft, ceramic lamps for heating, and cushions for thermal insulation.
